Humble Beginnings to a Kingdom of Her Own

With over four decades of success in the industry, Susan Crenshaw is a well-respected name throughout Northern California. Known for her unmatched reputation for compassion and her ability to build strong, lasting relationships, she has worked with generations of clients who continue to trust her program year after year.

 

Her passion for horses began in childhood, where determination and grit set the foundation for everything she has accomplished. As a young rider, she mowed lawns to earn enough money to buy her very first horse—an early testament to her dedication and love for the sport.

 

Growing up riding bareback through the hills of Los Altos, she developed a deep, intuitive connection with horses. Much of her early education came through hands-on experience—learning by doing, adapting, and growing through every challenge. That “trial by fire” upbringing shaped her into the knowledgeable, patient, and highly skilled horsewoman she is today.

 

She has enjoyed many years of success in the hunter/jumper show circuit, bringing a wealth of competitive experience and proven results to her training program.

 

Susan designed and built the Morgan Hill property based on her years of experience, creating a comfortable, beautiful, and completely functional training space for horse and rider. Ligara Farms is a family-owned business, run by Susan and her two daughters, Caitlin and Kirsten.
